Viking Delivers Customized WTMDs to the South Korean Market
At the beginning of May 2024, Viking achieved another important milestone in its global security solutions journey. The company successfully customized and delivered more than 100 sets of Walk-Through Metal Detectors (WTMDs), specially designed for the South Korean market.
This project was not just about numbers—it was about meeting unique customer requirements. The South Korean client, a large and influential company office complex, needed a tailored solution that could handle high traffic flow, strict security regulations, and specific architectural constraints.
Viking’s R&D team worked closely with the client to develop a special design that combined advanced detection sensitivity with aesthetic modifications suitable for the office environment. Unlike standard models, these units featured:
Slimmer frames to match the building’s interior design.
Enhanced sensitivity zones for detecting even the smallest metallic threats.
User-friendly interfaces with multilingual options.
Durable construction to withstand intensive daily use.
When the detectors were installed, the client’s office security team immediately recognized the benefits. Employees and visitors could pass through smoothly, while the system ensured consistent and reliable threat detection. The result was a balance between safety, efficiency, and workplace comfort.
By mid-May, all units were fully operational, marking Viking’s first large-scale deployment of customized WTMDs in the South Korean market. This success not only demonstrated the company’s engineering flexibility but also reinforced Viking’s reputation as a global provider of security inspection technology.
As Viking looks ahead, the project has opened new opportunities in the region. The story of these 100+ customized detectors stands as proof that security innovation can adapt to cultural, environmental, and client-specific needs—no matter how unique the challenge may be.
